About Dan Ortel
Dan brings the gym to your doorstep with his unique approach to training, serving Carroll and surrounding counties. With virtual sessions, you can train with him from anywhere. When he’s not training clients, Dan loves to strum his guitar or lead a sing-along and church service at a local nursing home. He also enjoys reading, staying up on current events, firing up the grill, and serving his local church community. Dan has been married to his wife, Sandy, since 1990, and they have two furry kids, Addie, a Sheltie-Poodle mix, and Jessie, a rescued cat. They have lived in their Hampstead home for over thirty years.
Dan’s secret to success is building and enjoying relationships with his clients rather than focusing on sales. He believes that when exercise feels like fun, it’s a win-win for everyone, and the sales end takes care of itself. His exercise philosophy is a balanced and creative blend of muscle-building, calorie-burning, and joint-supporting exercises, coupled with smart nutrition. This approach helps you stay healthy and happy throughout your life.

About Manchester, MD
Nestled in northeast Carroll County, Manchester, Maryland, is a charming blend of past and present. Situated on the active MD Route 30, linking Hanover, Pennsylvania, and Baltimore County, this small town is a unique mix of modern living and rich history.
Though growing with new housing developments, Manchester maintains its quaint, small-town essence, devoid of bustling fast-food chains. Established around 1760, Manchester is a testament to the fusion of English and German heritage, evident in the town’s name and ancient German inscriptions on cemetery tombstones. The town radiates a sense of community pride and collaboration, visible in the tidiness of its streets and the active participation in local ventures like the volunteer Fire Company and community-driven amenities including “Christmas Tree Park,” “Charlotte’s Quest Nature Center,” and notable historical churches.
The significant Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, founded in 1862, symbolizes this legacy, marked by a venerable white oak tree. Historically, Manchester’s economy was tightly linked to agriculture, particularly tobacco farming, which once fueled a thriving cigar manufacturing industry. The town’s development also encompassed ventures like an iron mine near Melrose, though it and the related railroad have since vanished. Today, Manchester is a serene home for many commuters traveling to nearby cities, preserving its neighborly, peaceful ambiance.
From its agricultural roots to its modern-day community spirit, Manchester is more than a town; it’s a living history, inviting and serene—a perfect snapshot of Americana.
