Finksburg, Maryland, is an unincorporated community in Carroll County, Maryland. It’s known for housing the National Security Agency’s EKMS Central Facility. Situated at the crossroads of Maryland Routes 91 and 140, Finksburg straddles the Carroll and Baltimore county borders. This unincorporated area is located approximately one mile northwest of the Liberty Reservoir and six miles southeast of Westminster. Finksburg’s historical roots trace back to Adam Fink, a tavern and toll road owner in the early 19th century.
Finksburg benefits from the protection of the Reese & Community Volunteer Fire Company. The local educational landscape is served by Sandymount Elementary, Shiloh Middle, and Westminster High Schools. Additionally, Finksburg is home to Gerstell Academy, an independent K-12 school.
