Dan Ortel

Dan Ortel Bio

Dan has been transforming lives through fitness since 1999. With a background in Psychology and Business, he brings both a scientific understanding and motivational edge to every client session. Specializing in strength and conditioning, senior fitness, weight loss, and corrective exercise, Dan helps clients overcome challenges ranging from everyday aches and pains to significant health conditions—including paralysis and other neurological conditions.

His philosophy centers on lasting change. Through his signature Smart Training approach—a balanced blend of resistance training, smart nutrition, and cardiovascular fitness—Dan equips clients to build sustainable habits and stay motivated for life.

Having worked with everyone from young and middle-aged athletes to seniors in their advanced years, Dan has a special passion for helping older adults stay strong, independent, and active in their own homes. Known for explaining anatomy and physiology in plain English, he empowers clients to understand their bodies and move with confidence.

One of his favorite quotes, from Patrick Morley’s The Man in the Mirror, captures his mindset perfectly:

“You have to do what you don’t want to do to be the person you want to be.”

Dan helps you do that, and you will enjoy the results!

Doug Rettberg

Doug Rettburg

Doug began his personal training career in 2016 and quickly developed a passion for helping people move, feel, and live better. Alongside his personal training, he worked with a corporate health company, leading group exercise classes and coaching clients one-on-one.

Specializing in functional strength, Doug holds certifications in MMA Conditioning and Corrective Exercise. He has successfully worked with clients managing conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and joint issues — always tailoring programs to fit individual needs and lifestyles. While many of his clients have pursued weight loss, Doug’s true satisfaction comes from seeing people regain energy, confidence, and strength through consistent effort.

His training philosophy centers on goal-driven, convenient personal training that delivers real results. Doug often shares one of his favorite quotes by Jim Rohn:

“We must all suffer from one of two pains: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret. The difference is discipline weighs ounces while regret weighs tons.”
